Independent suspension units are often used on unbraked trailers so that the chassis can be made using 'off the shelf' suspension units instead of having an axle made to the size required.
The weights of these suspensions come in three capacities, 350kg, 500kg and 750kg, this is the rating per pair. The axle on each weight capacity is the same, it's for a standard trailer hub. The axles on some are extended to through the hub out further for wheels with deeper dishes or offsets.
Suspension units are also still available for the old BMC Mini hub which used to be taken from the rear of the Mini after removing the brake drum.
