4 Metre Long 4000kg Car Transporter Strap

Ratchet wheel strap system to safely strap a vehicle to a transporter trailer. Designed to be used on trailers with a perforated decking, allowing a full choice of location points, the wheel strap system is a safe and reliable method of attaching vehicles to car transporter trailers.

• Locate the claw hook through the deck, either in front of or behind the vehicle wheel.
• The long strap section should then be fed behind the vehicle's tyre and around the top section of the wheel.
• Ensure that the ‘choker’ section of the strap is positioned horizontally on the outside of the wheel (See picture).
• Locate the ratchet on the opposite side of the wheel to the claw hook and feed the strap ‘loose end’ through the ratchet drum and take up most of the slack.
• Wind strap onto the drum, allowing at least one full 'wrap' on the drum before tension is taken up.
• Tension strap system ensuring that all elements remain in place.
• Lock the ratchet handle down.
• To release tension, pull back the handle about 135 degrees and locate the quick-release lever and hold down then fully open the ratchet handle to 180 degrees. Pull on the longer length of the strap to remove it from the slot.

 

Warnings

• Never stand in the direct path of the strap when tensioning to prevent the risk of injury should the strap become detached.
• These straps must never be used as personal restraints, for towing vehicles or to support the weight of a human being.
• Do not over-tighten since this can cause damage to cargo or possible personal injury. Use only hand leverage to work the ratchet handle.
• Do not exceed the working load capacity as stated on the packaging.

• Ensure that both the hooks and the buckle are aligned with the directions of the tension.
• Attachment hooks must be positioned such that they can not move or slip in use
• Ensure that the points of attachment to the vehicle or trailer are of sufficient strength to withstand the maximum loading that will be produced during use.
• If securing an item with a suspension system (such as a motorcycle) ensure that the suspension is fully compressed whilst tensioning the strap. In this case it is also essential that an equal tension is applied to both front and rear suspensions.
• Take additional care if securing large objects or objects with large flat areas that may be subject to aerodynamic lifting forces. The forces generated by aerodynamic lift can be very high, always use the appropriate number of straps and drive at reduced
• Do not use mechanical devices to apply additional force or tension.
• Protect the webbing of the straps from sharp edges, abrasion, hot surfaces or exposure to acids. Check the strap regularly for signs of deterioration or damage.
